Heike Schraeder was born in Germany and lived and worked in different hospital-, nursery-, school- and social service settings. Her main strength, the relationship building skills, her openness, her broad knowledge and her patient approach towards every situation and client made her gain the trust of parents and children easily.

Being a Pediatric Nurse, Heike loved to work in nursery settings with newborns and in Intensive Care Units, caring for parents and babies with passion and enthusiasm. After having gained experience and a broad expertise regarding baby care and teaching parents in nursery settings, Heike went back to University to study Special Needs Education with the goal of enriching her medical knowledge with educational theories. Being able to spend more time with clients in an out-of-hospital-setting, focussing on their social, emotional as well as on their medical progress was the most motivating factor for her.
Looking back, Heike still is of the opinion that the combination of Pediatric Nursing Skills with Special Needs Education is most valuable and successful.

Having gained experience with children and adults with and without special needs in Germany, Heike decided to move to Australia in 2008. With her smile, which never seems to disappear, she did win the hearts of residents in retirement homes as well as the hearts of infants, toddlers and older children in Play-, Preschool and in school settings. She helped many new parents successfully through the challenging first weeks with their newborn and adviced on handling, feeding, medical issues; just to name a few...

Kid Whisperer Pty Ltd intends to give parenting advice in all aspects of a child's life, focussing on the age span of 0 - 10 years. Kid Whisperer's services can be subdivided into two main sections:

  • Newborn Specialist Services focussing on giving advice on baby care and boosting parent's confidence in looking after their baby in their own home (handling, bathing, feeding, colics, teething, sleeping issues...) and showing parents how to enhance their babies development (learning how to crawl, how to sit, how to walk...) using specific "PLAY exercises" in home visits
  • Behaviour Management Services focussing on giving advice on parenting issues and developing plans on how parents can influence challenging behaviours, ADHD, developmental delays and children with disabilities in a positive manner. Where indicated we offer therapy sessions in a one on one situation with the child to boost his confidence, to encourage development and learning outcomes.
We are proud to offer all these services - due to our experience in Pediatric Nursing and Special Needs Education - to parents of premature babies, children with chronic illnesses, children with physical disabilities too.
